Guild recruitment billboard/herald
Since most players never visit the official site, forums etc. it would be nice with an in-game alternative for guild recruitment.
Personally I hate the idea of spamming in local chat.
So suggestion is to add some linked npc's to all the major outposts, where guilds can post their recruitment messages.

Party Search specifically designed for Guild recruitment, I had the thought of this before. Bring more the meaning of guild to Guild Wars.

/signed spamming is annoying and useless, this would give people looking for a guild a place to go and make a wise decision on what they choose

Yeah they should make the officer or leader pay the herald to advertise their guild it's more realistic and acts as a gold sink.

And I like the idea of the guild leader paying to advertise on a sanctioned area to recruit.
I never join guilds that spam recruiting messages in local chat. And I've been in a guild led by someone who spammed like this. I didn't know this at first and I did leave, with notice, when I saw him doing it.
It's an idea that may work. Since Anet was able to add a whole new Party Search window, I'm sure they can make one for guild recruiting. Or maybe an NPC that leaders pay to advertise in.
Of course some will still spam in local chat. Some people aren't looking for advertisements so the spammers bring it to them. It's like taking a wall in the streets of L.A. and making it legal to spray paint graffiti there. Some will do it but some won't because it defeats the purpose of doing it where they're not supposed to.
But at least the party search thing seemed to help clean up local chat a lot.

Recruiting like that won't get you players you want to play with anyways. Much better to have a smaller guild of friends than a large guild where half the people don't know each other and have no loyalty to the guild.

True, and you end up with an alliance chat people use as a price check search engine. Or they chat like they're posting on the ytmnd forums. Just a bunch of senseless babbling, more than enough Paris Hilton jokes, people making fun of the 9/11 attacks, and calling each other "noobs."
